The Team

The Tides Restaurant Barbados is owned and operated by the dynamic husband and wife duo Guy and Tammie Beasley.

In addition to their formal training and restaurant experience - they previously owned and operated a restaurant at the famous 5 star Sandy Lane Hotel which gave them further experience in which they carried to The Tides.  Their team at The Tides Restaurant is of the highest level and is selected based on their passion, determination and eagerness to please our guests.

Training is of top priority and they strive to create a culture of enthusiastic professionals willing to go the extra mile and serve each diner as if they were a new one, appreciating that their service is measured based on a diners last experience.  It is their job to make it a memorable experience, one they will want to repeat!

Tammie Beasley – Joint Owner & Managing Director

Tammie was born in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, her family moved to Barbados when she was 5 years old.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Management.
From early she chose to focus her career in the Food & Beverage field of the hotel business.
Tammie worked 3 years in London, England for Albert and Michelle Roux, famous French chefs in the 80's and 90's. Their flag ship 3 star Michelin restaurants are Le Gavroche and The Waterside Inn. 
She returned to Barbados and married Guy in 1991. 
They opened their first restaurant on The Sandy Lane golf course in Barbados which was called 'Putters on The Green'. The experience gained from opening and operating this business certainly helped her when setting up The Tides Restaurant. She is passionate about service standards and ensuring that all her front of house team have a friendly and warm manner towards their guests. 

Tammie loves what art does to her mood and spirit so she meticulously chooses the pieces that hang in the art gallery hoping it will give her patrons the same pleasure.  The pieces are sourced from all over the world including but not limited to South America, England and Caribbean islands including Barbados.  

Guy Beasley - Co-owner & Executive Chef

Guy is classically French trained by the Roux brother’s owners of the three star Michelin restaurant Le Gavroche in London. He has a unique way of creating culinary works of art and believes that you cannot prepare nouveau cuisine correctly without the classical French chef training. His dishes are therefore as much a visual treat as they are a taste sensation. He believes the quality and freshness of the ingredients are at the foundation of great food, no matter the complexity or simplicity of that dish!  Make way for Guy to create fireworks on your pallet with his gastronomic delights!

Jimion Yarde - Restaurant Manager

Jimion has always had a passion to please!
Jimion is our new Restaurant Director since November, 2017. He studied Tourism & Hospitality Management at Penn Foster College, Pennsylvania after falling in love with the hospitality business. He started out as a waiter at the young age of 16 years old at Carambola Restaurant, Barbados and then went on to be the Head Waiter and Bartender at Escape Hotel, Barbados. There was no holding Jimion back as he went on to become Restaurant Manager at the infamous The Restaurant at Southseas, Barbados which achieved many awards and accolades, one being The Conde Nast Traveler Hot Tables Award for one of the 66 Best restaurants to open in the world for the year 2004. From 2008 to 2015 Jimion worked at the prestigious AAA 5 Diamond Resort - Sandy Lane Hotel, Barbados where he experienced 5 star cuisine and service.  He proved himself as a worthy asset to Sandy Lane Hotel and was promoted to be Senior Restaurant Director,  managing all of their 5 restaurants and 6 bars. He recently returned to Barbados from Exuma, Bahamas where he was the Food & Beverage Manager for Grand Isle Resort & Spa. We are thrilled to have Jimion join The Tides team and confident that he will prove himself as before as an outstanding leader.

Stuart Fawcett – Head Chef

While still at secondary school, Stuart started his career as a Kitchen Porter in Yorkshire, UK. After graduating, he took on a 2 year apprenticeship and worked as a trainee Chef in a Country House Hotel. Stuart continued to improve his culinary skills from work opportunities in other Restaurants.At age 24, Stuart led a Kitchen in Sydney, Australia for the next 4 years. While in Sydney, he found his passion for fine dining food and took a job back in London at Michelin starred, Aubergine, working his way up to Sous-Chef. Stuart then followed executive Chef, William Drabble to the St. James Hotel and Club London, starting as Sous Chef and staying for 4 ½ years, leaving as the Head Chef. Since joining the Gastro Pub in east end London, Stuart successfully updated the Menus and pushed the Business in the right direction. In October 2017, he headed to Barbados to take up the role of Head Chef at the Tides Restaurant.

Wade Mascoll- Assistant Restaurant Manager

Wade has worked in the hospitality industry from 1987 at a number of outstanding establishments including but not limited to Sandy Lane Hotel, Barbados; Grosvenor House Hotel, England; and Canon Ranch Health Spa, Massachusetts. During that time he has gained a vast wealth of knowledge in the food and beverage department. Wade is a highly motivated individual who continuously strives for excellence!

Elizabeth Ward – Operations Manager

Liz is an energetic, versatile and capable Operations Manager who has over 15 years’ experience in the Hotel, Retail and Service industries. She is known to be an excellent people manager, is innovative and has a passion for creating practical solutions and solving problems in a timely manner. She thrives on collaborating with the team and works with them to maintain their commitment that is evident at the Tides Restaurant Barbados.

Liz is approachable and is comfortable working with people of all levels.  She currently participates in the driving of operational improvements, maximizing the value of the Restaurant, while ensuring a tight control on operational costs. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Toronto

Lorraine Bruce – Assistant Restaurant Manager

Lorraine has been with the “The Tides Restaurant” for over eleven (11) years and has progressed throughout the years from a very junior position to that of Asst. Restaurant Manager.  She has a long and progressive career in the hospitality industry working at establishments such as the Pineapple Beach Club, Almond Beach, Crystal Cove and the Courtyard by Marriott.  Lorraine received her training at the Barbados Community College and Barbados Hotel School.   She is a tremendous asset to the Tides Restaurant and is particularly known for her “hands on" approach  and her caring disposition.

Chris Wells – Bar Supervisor

Chris is a young but very advanced individual. He commenced his career at Coral Reef Hotel and joined The Tides Restaurant in 2005. After working at The Tides for just a year he took his chance to develop and advance his managerial and bar skills by attending the Barbados Community College Pomarine Institution. After passing the course as an A+ student it was back to business. Never keeping his knowledge to himself he developed a bar team for The Tides like no other.  His team is best known as alert, welcoming, on point and consistent!

Stephen Griffith - Assistant Restaurant Manager

At the young age of 18 years old Stephen, proved himself to be an exemplary waiter at The Carambola Restaurant which was a 5 star restaurant from 1995 to 2005. He again demonstrated his capabilities as an outstanding waiter at The Tides Restaurant from 2005 to 2007. It was not long before Stephen had shown such promising potential, that he was promoted as The Restaurant Assistant Manager where he proved to be an added asset to the management team. He moved on to the The Beach House Restaurant & Bar as a Restaurant Manager. He gained further experience in the Food & Beverage field managing all aspects of that operation. He was responsible for staff training, organised large functions and ensured that the service provided was efficient and friendly. It is obvious that Stephen is passionate about maintaining high service standards and will ensure that all his guests have a memorable experience - no matter what it takes he will get it done!! The Tides Restaurant was fortunate once again, to have Stephen return to them in 2016. As an Assistant Restaurant Manager, Stephen is once again showing his passion for maintaining outstanding service standards. It is obvious that the personal standards Stephen has for himself are transferred in the execution of his duties as an Assistant Restaurant Manager at The Tides Restaurant. He is the back bone of The Tides Restaurant - they just do not make them like Stephen Griffith any more!
